It was completely walled off like it was its own separate store. Always thought that was neat. But I guess it took away from the other Menswear in the store so that's why they probably got rid of it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9879987.post-38676554165257029662010-01-19T01:58:33.522-05:002010-01-19T01:58:33.522-05:00Studidly, they closed the Forty Carrots Restaurant...Studidly, they closed the Forty Carrots Restaurant, The Chocolate Bar,The Bloomies Gourmet Dept, years ago...now none of the THREE Bloomie's in the Washington area:Tysons/Chevy Chase/White Flint, unlike Bloomie's in other cities, have NO restaurant,at all! That's pretty STUPID, considering Nordstrom knows very well that to keep customers in Nordstrom spending you keeping a restaurant to feed them there. Give customers an excuse like hunger to leave-& they surely will!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9879987.post-31191348834619709202009-09-15T00:29:29.238-04:002009-09-15T00:29:29.238-04:00cantnot: The original store building dates from 19...cantnot: The original store building dates from 1969. Apparently Lansburgh's has some issues with leasing the space and didn't open with the mall in '67. Lansburgh's closed in 1973 when City Stores folded the chain, and it sat vacant until 1976, when Bloomingdale's opened here in a gala celebration. The store expanded in 1988 with the expansion of the mall, adding a small lower level to connect to the new lower level of the mall.

Michael: The interior has been under continuous renovation for the last five years. Before then, it was a 1970s relic without compare. There are some parts that still haven't been touched (some possibly since Lansburgh's was there), but it's a far more contemporary shopping experience than it used to be.Livemallshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01567198484359363455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9879987.post-88041501654790154442009-09-14T20:27:03.314-04:002009-09-14T20:27:03.314-04:00it looks like it's had some work done recently...it looks like it's had some work done recently ;-pMichaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15046462469841949744noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9879987.post-31161291313599816422009-09-14T11:31:52.770-04:002009-09-14T11:31:52.770-04:00How old is this store? How old is this store?Groceryinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08882351454839187660noreply@blogger.com
